From I to WE chronicles the experiences of the Zink University faculty in running Round Tables over the last several years for hundreds of participants. Through stories, descriptions and helpful tips, the book explains the origins, purpose and expected results of carrying out Round Tables in an organization.
The Round Table Journey itself offers top executives the opportunity for more than professional growth. It creates the time and space to get to know the other great minds within a company on a personal and emotional level. These relationships mature into deep friendships because friendships are based typically on three fundamental aspects: shared history and experiences, shared emotional responses to difficult issues; and common values and the freedom to express them.
As executives mature in their Round Table friendships, their need for constant emotional vigilance and self-defense begins to soften. It is replaced by the recognition that there are others in the Round Table who could benefit greatly from openness and emotional support.
